The Pet Hui is a TV series acknowledging the deep affection that locals have for their pets. The show features compelling stories about people and their pets, information about pet health care, tips on training your pets, and much more. We aim to help improve as well as make the best relationship between pet owners and their companions.
Ron Darby, the show's creator and producer, has been a dog lover his whole life. Now he and his wife have passed that passion down to their three kids with their two rescue dogs. They also have a rabbit, a cat and two fish tanks!
Denby Dung, the host of THE PET HUI, is a professional model and actress and is currently a musician and Mistress of Ceremonies for the Royal Hawaiian Band. In addition, she is a music instructor at Chaminade University where she teaches clarinet and saxophone. Denby graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Education Degree in Secondary Music.
She has performed in numerous musical theatre productions including "You Somebody", "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", "Meet Me in St. Louis", "Flower Drum Song", "The Producers" and "A Little Night Music". In 2001, Denby was crowned Miss Hawaii. She has been seen in numerous television commercials and many film projects.
Her credits also include radio and voiceover work for many advertisements. Denby is a pet lover and shares her home with her mother, her brother Dean, her sisters - Dana-Li and Darah, and with three dogs, Harley, Whitewater and Stitch. Stitch is the latest addition to her family and was adopted by Denby in December, 2008, after she met him while hosting "The Pet Hui". Stitch was rescued by The Hawaii Dog Foundation and was brought on the show as Denby's co-host in the hopes of finding a good home for him. He did indeed find a great home when Denby fell in love with him while filming the show and left the taping with him in her arms.
